Kieran Hebden aka Four Tet is a long time favourite of ours here at Drip.Drip, and today he has treated us all with a surprise release of his new album Beautiful Rewind. Now streaming in full over on his soundcloud. We are currently 24 minutes and well, we are not disappointed, very good Mr Tet, very good! In celebration of his release he will be doing an eight hour DJ set over at Rinse FM 9pm Sunday night promising a host of special guest appearances, an excellent evening of listening for a Sunday come down.
Drip.Drip took a brief hiatus in prep as we are moving ‘office’ to Berlin in just a matter of weeks now. What made us abandon our preparations is this absolute breath of fresh cosmic air. James Holden arrives with his first album in seven years, ‘The Inheritors’. Since Mount Kimbie, Boards of Canada and Jon Hopkins most excellent new births we felt as if we were on a come down after a cocktail of copius drugs however we are high as kites again. Daniel Snaith aka Daphni gives his magic touch to this already amazing tune.
‘Close’ a new music project from the brilliant Will Saul with his new single getting a rework from UK duo Dusky. The single will be released through !K7 this June with other remixes from Midland and Tanner Ross.
We’ve been waiting in patiently for two years for this! The London based duo are one of our champions to arise from the post dubstep movement with ‘Crooks and Lovers’ still have pride of place in our collection. This album however seems to be a product of a new musical evolution for them. Against their previous release its far more abstract yet features a wide array of instruments from acoustic guitar, organs and woodwind. This sultry little number features another favourite and very quickly rising artist King Krule, just top!
VIA WARP, Cold Spring Fault Less Youth is out May 28
Trying to summon up some info on this London based Techno producer has been no easy task, and so we give up. Feeling slightly resentful of the recent revamp in house for some reason we are definitely more techno inclined these days. This awesome bootleg is courtesy of Manni Dee, a producer from Brighton we know very little of, but just listen …..
